I’m a bridesmaid in a wedding coming up next weekend, and there are multiple events that I need to wear nice clothes to. I needed a new pair of shoes and a coat (st louis is cold and my down jacket ripped during the move to Austin), so I stopped at Nordstrom rack. I also was going to treat myself to a new dress. This is the plus sized dress selection. The dresses after the 3X marker are mostly MEDIUMS. They also did not have a single plus sized coat. I am a fairly “normal” shoe size (9) so I did, at least, find those. Normally I would have just left with tears in my eyes and texted a few of my close friends. But, inspired by DressAfford large size wears for formal party cost below 100 Katie Mellon ’s post yesterday, I’m speaking out. Stores that “carry plus sized clothes” are often like this, and so I’m off to one of the two stores that actually caters to plus sized women, which is 13 miles away. End rant.
